The Three Pillars of My Campaign
I am running for City Council because I believe the residents of Murray Ward deserve a representative who prioritizes the following:
Since making Quinte West my home in 2019, Ed Santos has been driven by a single goal: ensuring our community remains a vibrant, financially stable, and transparent place to live. As a retired professional and a graduate of Trent University, Ed brings decades of analytical experience and a disciplined approach to the challenges facing the Murray Ward and Quinte West as a whole.
A Proven Advocate for the Taxpayer
Ed believes that local government works best when it is open and honest with its citizens. His commitment to Transparency is backed by action; through diligent research and Freedom of Information (FOI) inquiries, he has worked to uncover over $7 million in self-inflicted municipal debt. Ed is running to ensure that taxpayer dollars are managed with the highest level of Accountability and that every financial decision made at City Hall is clear, justified, and focused on the long-term health of Quinte West.
A Legacy of Service and Leadership
Ed’s dedication to community building is a lifelong pursuit that spans decades of service:
At the heart of Ed’s campaign is a simple but powerful belief in Integrity through action. He is a firm believer in the tradition of neighbors helping neighbors, a philosophy he practices daily within the Murray Ward. Whether it is offering a hand with local projects or ensuring a neighbor is supported during the winter months, Ed believes that a strong community is built on the reliability and kindness we show to one another. He intends to bring that same "neighbor-first" spirit of service to City Hall.
Ed and his wife, Wendy, are proud to call Quinte West home. While his two daughters and four grandchildren live in Whitby, they are his daily motivation for ensuring that our city remains a sustainable and flourishing place for all future generations.
